The Oscars acknowledged the horrifying conflict in Ukraine on Sunday night as the ceremony held a moment of silence. The 94th edition of the annual awards ceremony saw slides appear on screen which said: "We'd like to have a moment of silence to show our support for the people of Ukraine currently facing invasion, conflict and prejudice within their own borders.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have raised more than their $30 million goal for Ukraine. By Thursday, the celebrity couple's fundraiser had garnered $34 million from over 67,000 donations. Kutcher and Kunis celebrated the news in a video shared to social media and revealed they have raised the fundraising goal to $40 million.

Mila Kunis opened up about how she feels about the ongoing war between her home country of Ukraine and Russia in an interview with Maria Shriver for her digital series, #ConversationsAboveTheNoise. "It’s been irrelevant to me that I come from Ukraine. It never mattered," she said.  "So much so that I’ve always said I’m Russian.

A-lister Mila Kunis, born Milena Markovna Kunis, is now best-known for being a huge Hollywood star but her start in life was worlds away from the glitz and glamour of the movies. Mila was born in Ukraine in 1983 and then was forced to leave her home country seven years later, as her family fled just before the fall of the Soviet Union in 19991.The actress – who’s starred in films Black Swan and Ted as well as TV’s Family Guy – has previously stated anti-semitism as the reason why she left for America, saying her "whole family was in the Holocaust". "One of my friends who grew up in Russia, she was in second grade," she explained.

Mila Kunis, born Milena Markovna Kunis, is a proud Ukrainian, originally from Chernivtsi. Her Jewish family fled Ukraine, which at the time was a Soviet republic, when she was only seven years old in 1991, right before its fall.  Her father Mark was a mechanical engineer in Ukraine and her mother Elvira was a physics teacher.  She has previously cited antisemitism in the Soviet Union as one of the reasons her family fled the country. In 2011, the successful actress opened up to the Daily Telegraph about her early childhood.
