Michelle Keegan never does a red carpet by halves. The 34-year-old star of Brassic and Our Girl (and former Women's Health cover star, don't cha know) rocked a thigh-split, off-the-shoulder gown for the BAFTAs, and please can we take a moment for those arms and legs? What does she do to stay so fit? She's married to Towie star and trainer Mark Wright, so it's no wonder she's got her routine nailed. In fact, Michelle Keegan's morning workout is jam-packed with things we love: resistance training that targets the back, lower body and core (followed by a breakfast of dreams but more on that later).
Sharing a reel to her Instagram, she documented her healthy morning routine, featuring a gym workout, brunch and glam sesh before a busy shoot. A post shared by Michelle Keegan (@michkeegan)Seen first entering a fully-kitted gym, Michelle got going with some front-racked dumbbell squats – a fantastic exercise that targets the glutes, quads and core, made all the more difficult by adding extra weight. Then, moving onto the machines, she repped out seated cable rows – a move that sculpts back, upper arm and chest muscle.
A type of pull exercise, rows help build strength in your back; super important for posture, correct form during exercise and overall stability. Finally, Michelle got going with some spicy bicycle crunches, a core exercise that doubles as a cardio and strength training exercise, if done at pace and with good form. The key is to try and keep stable through your centre, as you twist each elbow towards your knee.
Go too fast and you run the risk of not engaging the muscles you need to!Next up, breakfast. A wholesomely delicious affair; toast with avocado, scrambled egg whites and a coffee for good measure. A balance
