Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan ’s latest on-screen project has been revealed. The 34 year old, who recently sparked rumours she’s returning to Our Girl when she jetted off on an “adventure”, has secured a role in the new six-part series Ten Pound Poms. Created by the team behind Netflix's Sex Education, the BBC period drama will tell the story of a group of Brits who have swapped post-war Britain for a new life in Australia during the 1950s.
And, according to a source, the upcoming project is said to be a “dream” for Michelle. “Michelle has always had one big dream, which is appearing in a period drama and Ten Pound Poms will let her dip her toe in those past times,” a friend of the star told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column. For the role, Michelle will work with screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst, who she has previously teamed up with on shows including Sky Max’s Brassic and BBC One’s Ordinary Lies.
