Michael Mosley has been reportedly spotted alive in a residential area, just 15 minutes away from his last known location.
The TV doctor and This Morning star, 67, disappeared while on a hike at Agios Nikolaos beach on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday, 5 June. A massive search operation is underway for Dr Mosley, who was holidaying with his wife, Dr Clare Bailey, 62.
After he went missing, his wife quickly alerted the authorities.
Today, police have been intensively searching the region, deploying drones, engaging at least one sniffer dog, and even a helicopter to aid in the search. Lefteris Papakalodoukas, the mayor of the island, has said that there have been sightings of Dr Mosley in Pedi, the closest town which is roughly a 15-minute stroll from where he was last seen.
Speaking to Live News, the mayor said: "The whole island is in turmoil.
The volunteers of the island and the services are out looking to find him." He further relayed information suggesting that Dr Mosley had made it back from Agios Nikolaos beach, traversed the footpath which takes about 10-15 minutes, and reached Pedi, a residential zone, reports the Mirror. According to the mayor, some witnesses have reported seeing Dr Mosley conversing with a woman after he left the beach, while others claimed to have seen him talking to a man in Pedi.
In a statement, a high-ranking Greek official assured that "no stone" would be left unturned in the quest to locate the British national. It's believed that Dr Mosley might have either forgotten his phone or accidentally left it behind at Agios Nikolaos beach before embarking on his walk.
The beach is situated approximately a 20-minute walk from the house where Dr Mosley and his wife were guests. A Greek official
