Michael Beale has broken his silence over his Rangers sacking.
The former coach under Steven Gerrard saw his Ibrox reign ended on Sunday night after less than a year in the hot seat. Saturday's 3-1 defeat at home to Aberdeen proved to be the final straw for the club board, who had seen the team fall seven points behind Celtic in the title race before the season had even reached October.
Beale may have won four on the bounce prior to Aberdeen's victory, but performances had left a lot to be desired and fan frustration was only growing. After backing their man with a big summer transfer budget, expensive flops such as Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Jose Cifuentes will have left the Rangers decision makers with buyer's regret so far and didn't help Beale's cause. But he's shared his goodbye message to the club and fans, insisting he' will "always" support Rangers. And there was a plea to get behind his interim replacement straight away.
Beale posted: "Thank you to Rangers FC and to everyone behind the scenes at the training ground and Ibrox, to the board, staff, fans and all the players. I will always follow and support the club from afar and wish you every success.
"Now is the time for everyone to unite fully behind Steven Davis and the team for the coming games. There si still so much to play for this season and I have a strong belief in this group of players.
"Thank you and good luck. MB.
