Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes his old teammate Edin Dzeko had a hard time at the Etihad Stadium and deserves to be thought of more highly.
On Wednesday night, 37-year-old Dzeko scored Inter's first in a 2-0 victory at the San Siro against AC Milan. It was his 14th of the season so far as the Bosnian enjoys an end-of-career renaissance in Italy.
The striker spent five years in Manchester before being sold to AS Roma in 2016. During his time in England he won two Premier Leagues, the FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield.

However, he is best remembered for his goal in the astonishing 3-2 victory over QPR which secured City's first Premier League. Discussing his old teammate on CBS Sport, Richards is delighted to see him flourish towards the end of his career.
"He is brilliant, he is the nicest guy ever," the 34-year-old explained. "I went to go see him in Milan about 18 months ago and we reminisced about the good times at Man City.
"He has had it hard because when people talk about Man City, everybody talks about; [Sergio] Aguero, [Mario] Balotelli, everyone loved [Carlos] Tevez but Dzeko was always second fiddle.
"Remember in the big game, last game of the season, okay we had the Aguero moment but Dzeko come from a corner and scored the important goal for the team. He goes to Roma when everyone thought he was finished and scored a lot of goals there and he is still doing it at Inter."
Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher asked if Dzeko was a player Richards had grown close to and the retired full-back jokingly replied: "Yeah, me and him spent a lot of time together on the bench." Should Inter progress to the Champions League final, they will face either City
