Erling Haaland has admitted it was a 'relief' to clinch the Premier League title last weekend after spending much of the season pursuing Arsenal.
Manchester City were confirmed as champions for a third consecutive season on Saturday, following Arsenal's 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest. Pep Guardiola and his squad watched that defeat from their training complex before lifting the trophy a day later after beating Chelsea at the Etihad.
The Blues spent the majority of the season in the unfamiliar role of chasers, with the Gunners enjoying a brilliant start to the season and maintaining their form right through until April, a month in which they drew three games before losing 4-1 at City.

A relentless run of 11 straight wins before Sunday saw Guardiola's side heap pressure on Arsenal before eventually surpassing them and opening up the decisive gap. And Haaland, whose 36 league goals have played a major role in his side's success, admits it was an amazing feeling to finally catch and overtake their rivals.
“I saw a stat of Arsenal being 240-something days on top of the table, and we were like 20,” Haaland told Sky Sports. “We were chasing after something throughout the whole season and to get hold of it was such a relief and such an amazing feeling.
“With all the experience in this club - they've won the Premier League for the fifth time a lot of them - the hard work you do throughout the season, this is what you get in the end, now in the last couple of weeks is when everything gets decided.
“That's why it's even better to win because it's a marathon, not just one game. It's the whole season, 38 games.”
