Meghan Markle allegedly sparked a feud with Queen Camilla who was left 'furious' with her after the Duchess decided to release a set of photos, according to a source.
The 42-year-old Duchess of Sussex was snapped during a trip to London's National Theatre in March 2020 as part of her role as patron which came just weeks before she and Prince Harry officially stepped down from their royal duties.
It's understood that Meghan insisted on having the photos published immediately despite being asked to delay them to avoid potentially overshadowing Camilla's long awaited speech on domestic violence.
The four images which showed the Duchess in a white blouse and pencil skirt inspecting the venue's Immersive Storytelling Studio were then quickly posted onto the Sussexes' royal Instagram page the same day.
An insider claims that Meghan is to blame for deliberately uploading the pictures on the same day as Camilla's speech, the Mirror reports.
They told the Daily Star at the time that the Duchess was being accused of trying to "steal Camilla's limelight" with the now-Queen being left "very upset".
They added that senior royals allegedly asked Meghan to delay the release so she didn't "overshadow" Camilla but she "refused to listen".
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe said on Friday Camilla had every right to have been "miffed" over the photos as he told The Sun Online: "The 'men in grey suits' are at pains to avoid diary clashes and the prospect of one member of the family outshining the other on the same day.
"Camilla would be justified at being miffed to say the least. But as Harry and Meghan continue their work without any regard for the rest of the work of the Royal family, these kinds of ‘clashes’ are inevitable."
