Meghan Markle has now confirmed that she will be attending the highly anticipated Invictus Games next month, along with her husband Prince Harry. A statement was released from the couple's organisation, Archewell, which stated Harry will start the games alone in Germany, and Meghan will join her husband for the second half of the games.
Prince Harry, 38, will attend the Opening Ceremony on September 9 and Meghan, 42, will join him for the Closing Ceremony on the 19th.
The Invictus Games, which are for international wounded, injured, and sick veteran servicemen and women, was set up by Harry in 2014 and Meghan has shown huge support for the games over the years. The couple went public with their relationship when they made their first public appearance together at the 2017 games in Toronto, Canada.
The games, which will be set in Dusseldorf this year for the first time, will represent 10 sports and 21 nations.
The games come after the release of Prince Harry’s documentary series, Heart of Invictus, which focuses on the competitors at the 2022 games.
The documentary will be released on Netflix on August 30 and is produced by Harry and Meghan's company, Archewell Productions.
On Thursday, it was confirmed Prince Harry will return to the UK to attend a charity awards ceremony on the eve of the first anniversary of his grandmother, the late Queen’s, death. Harry will celebrate the achievements and resilience of seriously ill youngsters and their families supported by WellChild at the event being staged in London on September 7.
The awards ceremony is being held a few days before Harry’s Invictus Games and during the event, the duke will spend time with each winner and their families at a pre-ceremony reception before presenting
