Actress Pam Ferris is known for a number of iconic roles on both the big and small screens. However, none have left a lasting impression quite like her terrifying portrayal of Miss Trunchbull in the classic film Matilda . The 73 year old actress has enjoyed a remarkable career, starring in various successful TV shows such as Connie, The Darling Buds of May, Where the Heart Is Rosemary & Thyme, and Call the Midwife .
Originally born in Hanover, Germany, Pam currently resides in east Kent with her husband, Roger Frost, who is also a celebrated actor best known for his role in Notting Hill where he played the annoying customer in William Thacker's (Hugh Grant's) Travel Book shop. Roger has graced the screen in other productions including The Diary of Anne Frank, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Midsomer Murders, among others. Despite their fame, little is known about the couple's private life in Kent, where they keep out of the spotlight.The couple first met at the Royal Court theatre and later tied the knot in 1986 when Pam was 38.
In an endearing revelation, Pam shared in an interview with The Guardian : "It took my husband eight short bus journeys to fall in love with me. “We were introduced at the Royal Court theatre on a Monday morning and discovered that we both got the number 22 home. We spent the next four days going back and forth, and that was it." Pam and Roger made a conscious decision not to have children, and she has expressed no regrets about this choice.
