Masked bike gang victim says thugs scoped out plush Edinburgh flat before terrifying raid

The victim of a masked bike gang that broke into her plush Edinburgh home believes thugs "planned" the raid on her property.
The shocking incident, which was filmed by a brave dog walker who happened to be passing by, took place on Learnmouth Terrace at 11.45am on Monday, June 24. The horrifying video shows the gang of balaclava-glad bikers helping themselves to safes and a briefcase from the home after it was smashed into with a crowbar.
Two bikes can be seen left on the landing of the common close while one of the thieves is seen carrying a large safe down the stairs after breaking into the upstairs flat. Two others then appear with their faces covered, one holding a crowbar, before mounting the bikes and attempting to flee the scene with safes and a briefcase.
Police have confirmed inquiries are ongoing following the theft. Images show the property's door forced open and smashed following the incident.
The distraught homeowner has since revealed how she spotted who she claims was the same group on the street days prior to the incident. The woman told how she left her home for a short while to run some errands when the gang pounced. She believes the raid was premeditated and is terrified the thugs will return to her home.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Rebecca Brass, whose mum owns the flat, said: "My mum is very upset about it all. Some items stolen were sentimental and irreplaceable which is so upsetting and the damage they have caused was very severe including dropping one of the heavy safes down the stairs, cracking and smashing the staircase.
