Marvel's Pom Klementieff Teases Joining DC Universe With Director James Gunn

Well, it’s official, and James Gunn’s DC Studios plan is slowly moving forward. Today, HBO and MAX confirmed that it’s picked up an eight-episode Green Lantern series for a season one pick-up.

Lanterns is moving from Max to HBO and has received an official series order.

Superman fans have been sharing their “disappointment” at early images of the character’s new suit, as worn by actor David Corenswet.The film, now simply titled Superman after having initially been named Superman: Legacy, is set to arrive in July 2025 as the launch movie of the latest version of the DC Universe.Helmed by Guardians Of The Galaxy’s James Gunn – who is now the co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran – Superman will also star Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and more.The first look at Corenswet as Superman came last month when director James Gunn shared a picture on social media of the actor in costume.In the picture, Corenswet is seen wearing the iconic red and blue Superman suit, albeit with changes to its logo and seemingly the return of the Kryptonian’s iconic red briefs. It also includes an ominous beam firing behind Superman.A post shared by James Gunn (@jamesgunn)Further images have now been shared, and fans on social media have not been slowing in sharing their hesitations about the new design of the iconic Superman suit.“I love & support David Corenswet’s casting as the Superman but I am super disappointed in the suit,” wrote one X user.

It’s no surprise we’ve seen some familiar faces show up in the early cast of the new DCU that James Gunn is working on. Gunn is famous for bringing back actors he enjoyed working with on new projects, with regulars like Nathan Fillion and Michael Rooker showing up in just about everything the director does.
