Martin Lewis has advised that hundreds of pounds could be up for grabs through a new lawsuit.
According to the money-saving expert, more than £40 billion has already been paid out for people who were misold Payment Protection Insurance for mortgages which he described as one of the biggest financial scandals in history. While many may have missed out on the chance to make a claim following the passing of the deadline, Mr Lewis said a new lawsuit will provide people with another chance to make a claim and potentially get thousands of pounds.
Appearing on his 5 Live radio show, Mr Lewis said anyone who had a loan, mortgage, card, or catalogue debt, from roughly 2010 and afterwards could be in for a chance to get thousands. While he admitted that he struggled over issuing the advice because the lawsuit is being run by a third party - which take around 35 per cent in payouts - it was still the best option due to the complexity of the case, Wales Online reports.
