Martin Compston thanks fans as Line of Duty nominated for NTA

The upcoming six-part Amazon Prime Video series The Rig has recently wrapped up filming in Edinburgh, with the first new images for the show coming soon after to tease expectant fans. Line of Duty star Martin Compston is set to star in the thriller set to follow the crew of the Kishorn Bravo oil rig just off of Scotland as tremors suddenly cut off all communication to the mainland.

Naman Ramachandran Amazon Prime Video has revealed the first look for its upcoming six-part series “The Rig.” The series stars Martin Compston (“Line of Duty”), Emily Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”), Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones”), Calvin Demba (“Kingsman: The Golden Circle”) and Mark Bonnar (“Line of Duty”).“The Rig” follows the crew of the Kinloch Bravo oil rig stationed off the Scottish coast in the dangerous waters of the North Sea.

Martin Compston has reassured fans he doesn't die within ten minutes of his new drama following viewers disappointment at his last role in Vigil. The Greenock born actor's recent role in the BBC drama about a mysterious fishing trawler disappearance and a death on board a Trident nuclear submarine caused chaos with fans after he was killed off just eight minutes into the show.

Martin Compston joined Vicky McClure to present co-star Adrian Dunbar with the Television Actor of the Year award. The Northern Irish star, who will soon be seen alongside Cush Jumbo in Hamlet at The Young Vic, was just one of the night’s winners which also included prizes for sporting heroes in the shape of England manager Gareth Southgate, presented with an Inspiration of the Year award by Gary Lineker, and an Outstanding Achievement award for Team GB and Paralympics GB.

Martin Compston showed off some new black and white portraits of himself as part of a new exhibition in London. The Line of Duty and Vigil star can be seen in the set of four pictures with his eyes and face covered, then peaking over his mask, before looking bemused and smiling.
