Martin Compston appeared on Lorraine on Thursday morning to send a sweet message to Vicky McClure as she's set to release her first book.
The Greenock-born actor, 39, appeared on the ITV chat show to congratulate his Line of Duty co-star Vicky, 40, on her first children's book - as well as igniting some Soccer Aid rivalry. Martin, who is currently filming for his BBC travel show, said: "Hey Vic, how are you doing? Greetings from Norway.
"First off, let me just say a big TV happy birthday. The big 40, how did that happen? Congratulations on the book mate, I'm sure it's going to be amazing."
In a cheeky quip, he added: "I have to say not even a children's fiction writer could write a scenario where England the World 11 at this year's Soccer Aid.
"Canny wait to see you there pal, and hopefully see a few more of you."
Vicky, who previously described Martin and fellow Line of Duty co-star Adrian Dunbar as her family, is coaching the England squad for Soccer Aid 2023. The Trigger Point actress is joined by coaches Harry Redknapp, Stormzy and Emma Hayes with Jill Scott, Liam Payne, Paddy McGuiness, and Jermaine Defoe on her squad.
Martin is coaching alongside Robbie Keane for the rest of the world side, and his all-star team includes Usain Bolt, Tommy Fury, Lee Mack, Steven Bartlett, and more.
