Mark Wright has admitted that he was left "devastated" after a costly mistake at his new £3.5million mansion left him £30,000 out of pocket. The 36 year old former TOWIE star has been busy overseeing the renovation projects for the sprawling Essex property that he shares with actress wife, Michelle Keegan, 35. No expense has been spared when it comes to creating their perfect abode, including Mark forking out £30,000 on trees to frame their property, with the view of creating more privacy for the famous couple.
But, Mark was in for a shock, after the trees that were planted failed to grow due to conditions in the soil and a harsh winter. He explained to Heart Radio: "It's that kind of weather outside where you start thinking about planting your spring/summer plants.
I had a little bit of a nightmare, I'm not gonna lie." Mark continued: "I planted some trees in my garden and they all died, and it's devastating because I spent so long watching them thinking "please grow". "They were my boundary trees to give me a little bit of privacy, and the company blamed it on the soil because obviously the wrong soil can make your plants go bad.
"I ended up finding out they recommended the wrong plants to me, and it was because they're not supposed to be out in the open in anything below minus five degrees and at Christmas time it was like minus 15 when it snowed." Mark and Michelle have been renovating the five-bedroom property – which they bought in 2019 for £1.3 million – for three years, finally moving in last summer. Opening up about how thrilled he is with his lavish pad, Mark says, “I’m loving it.
I hope it’s my forever home. It feels incredible.” The house comes complete with sprawling bedrooms, a five-star bathroom, in-house
