Mark Hamill on why we’ve seen the last of Luke Skywalker in ‘Star Wars’

In a tweet, John Boyega slammed Star Wars fans who compared the George Floyd protests to the violence that the franchise’s characters, many of whom are white, have faced at the hands of fictional soldiers called Stormtroopers. Boyega, who played Finn in the most recent Star Wars trilogy, criticized fans who co-opted his tweets about Black Lives Matter and system racism with tweets about he needs to “talk about police brutality against white people.”

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill is pretty excited to see how The Mandalorian resurrects Boba Fett.

Mark Hamill brought a new dark side to Wednesday’s episode of the FX series “What We Do in the Shadows.”

Even though Mark Hamill’s days are behind him, that doesn’t mean he’ll turn his back on the long-running and expanding franchise created by George Lucas. “There are so many stories they can tell, so many talented actors and writers and directors, and now I can just be a fan. I’ll always be partial to any project,” he tells ET’s Ash Crossan while discussing the news that filmmaker Taika Waititi, who is an executive producer of the comedy series, is set to helm a standalone  film.

While no stranger to the dark side, Mark Hamill has never played a vampire before. That is, until now that he’s appearing on season two of, the series based on the film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Making his debut on Wednesday’s episode, “On the Run” written by Emmy nominee Stefani Robinson, Hamill plays an ancient vampire and rival of Laszlo (Matt Berry).
