Kate Winslet stars as the authoritarian leader of a fictional European country in the new black comedy “The Regime.” Premiering Sunday, March 3 (9 p.m.) on HBO and streaming on Max, the six-episode political satire was created by “The Menu” and “Succession” writer Will Tracy. The story follows a year within the palace of a crumbling regime, led by the volatile and paranoid Chancellor Elena Vernham (Winslet). Co-stars include Hugh Grant as her political rival, Andrea Riseborough as the palace manager and Martha Plimpton as a US Senator.

Katcy Stephan A long-gestating reboot of the “Naked Gun” franchise with Liam Neeson is finally moving forward at Paramount, landing a release date of July 15, 2025. The currently-untitled project will be directed and executive produced by Avika Schaffer, who co-wrote the draft script alongside Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing via their company Fuzzy Door.

The Donovans, a new series loosely based on Showtime’s popular drama Ray Donovan, is set at Paramount+, with Guy Ritchie attached to direct and executive produce. Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett will pen all 10 episodes of the series, an extension of the Ray Donovan franchise, from Showtime/MTV Studios and 101 Studios. The Donovans will debut on Paramount+ for subscribers with the Paramount+plan with Showtime later this year.
