Those who say it always rains in Manchester are set to be proved wrong this weekend. Our region will bask in glorious sunshine over the coming days. And the good weather should even continue into next week.
According to the Met Office, temperatures will reach as high as 15C in Greater Manchester on some days. The sunshine is expected to stay until at least Thursday.

Most of our region woke up to clear blue skies this morning, and the sunny weather is predicted to last throughout the day. The temperature will hit 15C in some areas, forecasters predict.
Tomorrow will be another sunny, clear day. Wall-to-wall sunshine is expected from dusk until dawn with temperatures set to peak at 14C in the afternoon. By around 7pm, the mercury will dip to around 10C.
There may be some cloud around on Sunday, but sunny spells are forecast again for much of the day. The temperature will fall slightly to an average of around 10C.
A similar weather picture is forecast for Monday, with cloudy and sunny spells predicted. The mercury will hit a high of 11C in the afternoon, the Met Office predicts.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are all set to be filled with sunshine. Temperatures of 15C are forecast for the end of next week.
This spell of sunny weather will come after a forecaster said temperatures could soar to as high as 28C by mid-April as a result of global warming. Jim Dale, senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, said hot weather is expected to arrive 'fairly early' this year, and that temperatures in the high 20s would be 'unsurprising' next month.
