Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes his old club should turn to Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel to become their next permanent manager, insisting he would "be the one."

Former Liverpool and Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch has called on Manchester United to hire 'top, top manager' Thomas Tuchel.
The future of the Chelsea manager is currently in doubt after the club's owner Roman Abramovich was hit with sanctions by the UK Government. These sanctions mean that the Blues are currently unable to open the club shop, sell tickets and renew player contracts, along with other restrictions.
Crouch, who experienced similar troubles at Pompey, has called on United to take advantage of the situation. Speaking on BT Sport ahead of Brighton and Hove Albion vs Liverpool, he said: "From a player's point of view, we get on with the football side of it.

"It was a real difficult time for all concerned. If that happens at Chelsea, with Thomas Tuchel, if he’s unsettled, he’s a top, top manager, and someone like Manchester United sense he’s unsettled and then he leaves, then you’ve got a real problem."
Tuchel's current contract at Stamford Bridge runs until the summer of 2024. Since arriving at Chelsea last year, he has won the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
