Manchester United expect to have a design in place for the redevelopment of Old Trafford in the next four months.
United appointed master planners Legends and Populus to work on the plans in the middle of April and the first stage of their work is to establish a "high-level design and business case".
That is expected to be complete by the end of September at the latest, at which point a more detailed approach to carrying out the recommended work can take place.

United were considering various options around their Old Trafford home, including building an entirely new stadium on the same site.
But chief operating officer Collette Roche told the most recent fans' forum in April that redeveloping Old Trafford was the club's top priority.
"Our current focus is on developing our existing stadium into a world-class facility – ensuring it meets the needs of our fans and players whilst retaining the history and legacy which makes it so special and unique," she said.
When Legends and Populus were appointed last month they said work would commence immediately on "developing options for Old Trafford and studying their feasibility", but a redevelopment of the existing ground is now leading the approach.
Speaking to the fans' forum, Roche added: "We believe we’ve got the best in the business in Legends and Populus. Between them, they‘ve worked on many of the most prominent stadium projects across Europe in recent years, including redevelopments of the Bernabeu, the Nou Camp and Anfield."
United will also continue to engage and consult supporters during the process of Old Trafford's redevelopment.
