Manchester United fans believe believe Erik ten Hag will bring success to the club, but are not so confident in director of football John Murtough and CEO Richard Arnold, according to an MEN poll.
Huge hope has been placed on Ten Hag to restore the club to where they once were. United have failed to win a trophy for the past five seasons and haven’t lifted the Premier League title since 2013.
Ten Hag arrives at Old Trafford on the back of three successive Eredivisie titles with Ajax. He reached the semi-finals of the 2019 Champions League during his tenure — something United have not done since reaching the final in 2011.

The Dutchman already looks to have already got his feet under the desk, with a number of players set to leave the club and plans in motion for new signings. And so it is no surprise that more than half the number of United supporters who voted in a Manchester Evening News poll said they were ‘very’ confident that Ten Hag can bring the club success.
A total of 54 per cent of the 4,700 people who voted chose this option, while seven per cent said they were ‘not very’ confident and the rest stayed neutral. The picture is not as pretty for Murtough and Arnold.
Only 16 per cent said they were confident that the executive pair could bring glory days back to the club with the majority (57 per cent) sitting on the fence. A number of backroom staff changes have already been made with a number of scouts being shown the door and members of the coaching staff also leaving.
