United set to launch offer for Kalvin Phillips
Manchester United are putting together a bid for Leeds United lynchpin Kalvin Phillips, the Manchester Evening News understands. United are searching for central midfielders this summer with Paul Pogba set to leave once his contract expires in June.
Phillips has been in talks with Leeds over a potential new deal but discussions have reportedly stalled. The 26-year-old is contracted at Elland Road until 2026 but his employers are keen to tie him down to a fresh deal amid the heightened interest in their player.

Ajax expect ten hag to leave for Old Trafford
Dutch champions Ajax have admitted that they expect Erik ten Hag to leave for United this summer. The 52-year-old has already held talks with the club over the full-time position.
The Manchester Evening News understands that he is the frontrunner to land the role. United want to make their decision over who their next boss is by the end of the season.
The club have underlined that discussions do not indicate a final choice, albeit other candidates Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui are now not considered to be in the main picture. Ajax accepted an approach from United for ten Hag last month with the two clubs sharing a friendly relationship, which is aided by ex-Red Devils goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar’s role as CEO.
