Animal lovers may soon have to say goodbye to the much loved Donkey Sanctuary.
The sanctuary, in Abbey Hey, is home to a range of donkeys which members of the public are able to adopt and visit. But, the charity behind the donkey sanctuary is now looking at closing the centre in order to 'adapt' and ensure they are 'making best use of donors' money'.

"We are entering a consultation process to look at ways of making best use of our donors' money and to ensure we are to continue to achieve our core mission of improving the welfare of donkeys in the UK and around the world."
Despite the sanctuary's reasons for holding the consultation visitors and adopters of donkey's at the centre were quick to share their sadness at the 'devastating news' of the possible closure on Facebook.
User Patricia Callaghan said: "Aww I wish I had the money to give you to keep the sanctuary open!"
