Passengers were left stranded at Manchester Airport for hours after numerous flight delays this morning (February 9).
People travelling to Belfast City from the south Manchester airport with Aer Lingus claim they were still waiting to board flights at 6pm this evening - and had been gifted a £5 voucher to spend as a result of the delays.
A spokesperson for Manchester Airport has since confirmed there were technical issues with one flight, and visibility issues due to poor weather over Leeds which has affected the rest of the day's flights.

One passenger, who wished to remain anonymous, told the M.E.N: “I was due to fly at 3.20pm out of Terminal 1 to Belfast City. The knock on flights were delayed and we were told it was poor weather, but then there were other flights going to Belfast, with EasyJet.”
“We have been promised that our flight will leave at 7.15pm, but we were supposed to be leaving at 3.20pm."
"People are still waiting for a flight from this morning. There’s a group of 16 girls who are going for a hen do. They have been waiting here since 11.40am this morning.”
A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said there had been two issues earlier this morning, one in relation to visibility at Leeds Bradford Airport, which saw one flight diverted. And a secondary issue of technical problems on a flight into Belfast City.
Each issue caused a ‘knock-on’ effect on today’s further flights, the spokesman said. They added that the issues have since been resolved.
Aer Lingus have been approached for a comment.
