A killer who shot his half-brother dead in the street has been jailed for life. Rumaal Ingram, 36, opened fire in Openshaw after meeting up with Zikel Bobmanuel.
A single bullet was fired into the ground, before it ‘fragmented’ and ricocheted, hitting 32-year-old Mr Bobmanuel in the neck and killing him. Ingram denied intending to kill or seriously harm his half-brother, claiming he had brought the gun to ‘threaten’ and firing it as a 'warning' shot to 'scare' him.
Ingram was acquitted of murder, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Minshull Street Crown Court heard that the shooting followed a row over trainers. The pair had met just before 2pm on Saturday, March 25, last year on Welland Street.

It followed a dispute between Mr Bobmanuel, whose youngest child was just weeks old at the time of his death, and a third man, Emmanuel Onasanya. Mr Onasanya ran a business on Instagram, cleaning trainers for a fee.
He met Ingram through that venture and then came into contact with Mr Bobmanuel, cleaning trainers belonging to both men. Mr Onasanya claimed he was owed money by Mr Bobmanuel after cleaning five pairs of his trainers.
He claimed Mr Bobmanuel 'wasn't very pleased' after being told he was being charged the full price of £30 a pair, rather than £20 - a discounted fee they were said to have agreed on in advance.
Mr Onasanya said he was charging full price due to an alleged delay in payment. He later informed Ingram about the dispute. The three then met up on March 25. Ingram armed himself and was driven to the scene by Mr Onasanya.
