There’s an option to hire out vessels, such as kayaks and canoes, so you’ve got the freedom to do your own thing if you don't want to have a lesson. You can also launch your own vessel if you have one - but you need to book in advance.
For those who really want to cool off, Open Swim offers slots for swimmers and lessons so you can try open water swimming. It’s important to note that Swimming at Sale Water Park is only permitted at specific sessions.
It’s even nice just to have a wander around the edge of the water; there are flat paths encircling it so it’s a lovely spot for a stroll. For a longer walk, pick up the River Mersey and head into Chorlton Ees Nature Reserve, and if you’re really up for a challenge walk over to Chorlton Water Park.
