A mechanic who won over £100m on the lottery after an eerie windfall prediction has admitted that his new lavish lifestyle bores him. Neil Trotter won the Euromillions prize of £107.9m back in 2014 - but was initially warned by the Camelot group not to spend it all straight away.
He did end up splashing the cash on a Grade II-listed mansion, complete with its own lake set in 400 acres of land in a bid to fulfil his childhood dream, the Mirror reports. Before becoming a millionaire, Neil, who is from Coulson, south London, worked as a mechanic and has now traded in his Ford Focus for a Jaguar and a Porsche.
But since his big win, he quit his job, only to find that his new life of luxury and leisure was "quite boring". He said: "Going from having to work to not having to work any more was quite a strange thing to adjust to. I soon found out that sitting at home watching telly all day was quite boring."
He always had an inkling that he would become a lottery winner, even going as far to tell all his friends and family that he would one day win big. Speaking back in 2019 he said: "Being a Trotter, I knew I'd be a millionaire one day - and I somehow knew I'd win the Lottery. I used to tell my dad I'd have a house with a lake, and he'd say, 'In your dreams, son!'
"I had such a strong feeling on the Friday that I'd win, I told the secretary at work. Winning allowed me to go back to my first love - racing. And I've the house with a lake."
Neil even had an eerie premonition about his fortunes, which led him to tell staff at his dad's office on the day of his win that "this time tomorrow" he'd be a millionaire. It was only a few hours later that his EuroMillions Lucky Dip ticked banked him £107,932,603.20, making him the fourth
