A man has been praised for refusing to cater for his sister's 'picky' teenagers at Christmas dinner. In the past, his sister had brought items specifically for her kids but the brother has now banned her from making separate food, reports the Mirror.
The man took to social media to vent his frustration at his sibling bringing separate plastic box full of pasta and chicken for her girls to eat. Posting on Reddit, the man says the mother will often get in his way whilst he is trying to prepare Christmas dinner with the separate food.
He said: "We have our Christmas with mum's side the first weekend of December. I hosted, usually my sister and I switch off host duties.
"My sister has two daughters who are incredibly picky eaters at 18 and 15- years- old. My sister would come to family parties with a box of pasta and a bag of frozen chicken tenders that she will make for her daughters."
The man says he put his foot down this year and banned her from entering the kitchen. He added: "This year I told my wife we will not be letting my sister in the kitchen this year and the girls will have the choice of eating what I prepared or not eating.
"My sister accused me of being a cynic and getting joy from watching the girls be uncomfortable. I told her they are old enough to eat like adults.
"I do a fillet roast, BBQ ribs, cheesy potatoes, stuffed artichoke, breaded cauliflower, ratatouille, and a salad. Certainly some of these must be foods that an 18 and 15- year -old should be able to eat."
However, he went onto explain that the two teens then only ate bread for the entire meal and commented on how 'disgusting' the other food looked. The man says his sister told him that he deserved their ridicule and teasing.
