A family from Dumfries welcomed what could be Scotland's first baby born on Christmas Day.
Mum Claire Henderson, 33, and dad Curtis Nott, 32, received a special delivery after their daughter Mila Nott arrived minutes into December 25. At 12:26am and weighing 8lb 3oz, little Mila was born by emergency caesarean at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The proud parents, from Dumfries, said their baby girl is the "best Christmas gift" they could ever receive.
Claire told the Record: "My waters broke at 8pm on Christmas Eve so I knew she was going to be a Christmas baby.
"When I was being taken into theatre for my C-section, the nurse said "oh, it's Christmas' and then minutes later she was here.
"It really has been the best Christmas gift for us."
Since Mila's birth the couple have been searching high and low for the earliest baby born on Christmas.
The mum-of-three added: "Mila was due on December 21 but she obviously wanted to wait for Santa. We've been looking everywhere to see the times of the Christmas Day babies and Mila appears to be the first.
"It's a lovely Christmas present for us, next year we'll have a first birthday to celebrate, too.
"We'll be in hospital for a few days so we don't have any Christmas celebrations lined up, but we will when I get out.
"Her proud big sisters Esmee and Orlaith can't wait to get her home."
In Glasgow, another family welcomed what is thought to be Scotland's second Christmas Day tot this year, after little Robyn Lawson was born at 12.39am. Nicola brought Robyn into the world at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital just 13 minutes after Mila arrived in Dumfries.
Robyn was Nicola and partner Calum's second child and the delighted couple were pictured smiling with the beautiful tot
