A specialist water rescue unit has joined police and Coastguard crews in their efforts to find a young man reported missing in Arbroath on Boxing Day.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing man who was last seen over a week ago. Robert Riddick, 31, was last seen in the Hillhouse area of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, at around 12pm on Saturday 3rd December.
Officers say he is known to frequent Glasgow City Centre and believe he may have travelled to the area. Robert's family are growing increasingly concerned for the Scot and have said it is 'out of character' for him not to keep in contact with friends and family.
He is described as being 5'8" with short brown hair. Robert was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, black Nike trainers, black tracksuit bottoms and carrying a green sleeping bag.
Anyone who may have seen Robert since this time, or who has any information which may assist us with enquiries, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 1620 of 8th Dec 2022.
