A man allegedly killed his sister’s ‘nuisance’ ex in a sustained knife attack after ‘taking the law into his own hands’, a trial has heard.
Liam Fosbrook, of Wythenshawe, is accused of the unlawful killing of 35-year-old Dylan Towers and is on trial at Minshull Street Crown Court.
Jurors heard that Dylan had been ‘repeatedly causing trouble’ with Mr Fosbrook’s sister, who he had previously been in a relationship with, by going to her house despite a court order. In the early hours of December 17 2021, Mr Fosbrook ‘took the law into his own hands’ when he confronted Dylan after he turned up at the house and repeatedly stabbed him, prosecutors allege.

Dylan was taken to hospital but died from his injuries 12 days later, the court heard. Mr Fosbrook, 29, denies the offence of manslaughter.
Prosecutor Neil Fryman told jurors that there was no evidence that Dylan was armed, and said he had not previously attacked Mr Fosbrook. “The defendant could have stayed inside his sister’s house and called the police as he had done days before,” Mr Fryman said.
“The defendant claimed he believed that Dylan Towers was trying to force his way in through the back door of his sister’s house. There was no evidence Mr Tower’s tried to force his way into the house. The deceased is a silent witness - his injuries speak volumes.”
The court heard that the relationship between Dylan and Mr Fosbrook’s sister had ended but he continued to ‘harass and pester her’. “Dylan was clearly a nuisance, but he was not dangerous,” the prosecutor said.
