A man has been found dead on a busy Scots road, as cops launch a probe into the "unexplained" death.
Emergency services raced to Glasgow Road near the Marbury Junction at around 7.45am on, April 29, after receiving reports of concern for a man close to the Shell garage.
He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, while police cordoned off the road so they could carry out an investigation.
The death is being treated as unexplained but Police Scotland has said there 'do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances'.
Glasgow Road was restricted to just one lane as eyewitnesses report that the area was taped off and a blue tent was erected.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.45am on Monday, 29 April, 2024 we were called to a report of concern for a man on Glasgow Road, Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended however he was pronounced dead at the scene."
They added: “The death is being treated as unexplained but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
