Thomas Kruecken has finally joined City from Stuttgart after being chosen in the summer to replace Jason Wilcox, who left the CFA to become sporting director at Southampton. After settling into his new job, Kruecken has outlined his top priorities as Wilcox's successor, looking ahead as far as 2029, and as broadly as City's under-11 cohort.
In essence, he is looking to future-proof City's lucrative academy, which is making millions for the club nine years after opening across the road from the Etihad. City have made over £200m in academy sales in recent years, and have seen plenty of local youngsters progress to the first team - including Phil Foden, Rico Lewis, Cole Palmer and most recently Micah Hamilton.

At the time of his appointment, sporting director Txiki Begiristain said: "Thomas is a great person who has an excellent track record in youth football. He has a vision for where our academy needs to be over the next five to ten years. His ideas match with ours, which is a great starting point."
Having served his notice at Stuttgart, Kruecken has arrived in Manchester and said the opportunity to join City was one he couldn't turn down, remembering his year as a coach at the Blues' old Platt Lane academy while studying in Manchester.
