Manchester City great Vincent Kompany is reportedly on the four-man shortlist to be appointed the next Chelsea manager.
The 36-year-old has impressed at Burnley this season, guiding the Clarets to promotion to the Premier League and an instant return to the top flight. Kompany's side will be crowned champions if they beat QPR at Turf Moor on Saturday and the former City man has earned plenty of plaudits for the job he's done in Lancashire.
That has attracted the interest of top clubs with Tottenham having been linked with Kompany as they seek a successor to Antonio Conte. And now the Belgian is named as one of a quartet of coaches Chelsea are considering appointing.

Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann are also in the frame as Chelsea seek a replacement for Graham Potter. Frank Lampard is currently in interim charge at Stamford Bridge but has lost all four matches since returning to the Blues. A fourth coach is also being considered but former Spain man Luis Enrique is not on the shortlist.
Kompany has been touted as a future manager of Man City, including by current Etihad boss Pep Guardiola who said it was destiny that his former charge would one day return as manager.
"Vincent Kompany will be Man City manager one day, I think it’s written in the stars, it’s gonna happen," said Guardiola ahead of the sides meeting in the FA Cup last month.
"I said that sooner or later he will be manager here. When, I don’t know. It’s my feeling. I have not spoken to him but he knows the club. The destiny is there..."
Kompany joined Burnley after leaving Anderlecht in Belgium. His Clarets side have lost just twice in the league this season. The
