Man arrested on suspicion of murder after 19-year-old stabbed to death

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed to death.
Matthew Daulby, 19, died in hospital after being found injured in Railway Road, Ormskirk, West Lancashire, just after midnight on Saturday (July 29).
A second 19-year-old man was also treated for stab injuries. His injuries were not serious and he has been discharged from hospital, police have confirmed.

A 20-year-old man from Ormskirk was arrested in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
A man from Liverpool and a second man from Melling, both 19, were arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with an altercation in Railway Road involving a number of men. They have been released on bail until October 14.
A cordon was in place around Railway Road, Moor Street and Moorgate yesterday as police continued their investigations.
Floral tributes have been left on Moorgate in Ormskirk town centre in memory of Matthew, reports the Liverpool ECHO. The busy street is lined with flowers as locals came together to pay tribute to the teenager.
One set of flowers was accompanied with a card which read: “For Matthew, so tragically taken, condolences.” In a statement issued by the police, Matthew's family paid tribute to the "most compassionate, loving and funny young man with a bright future ahead of him".
They added: "He adored his family, and cared for them with utmost loyalty. He loved spending time with them and gave his love so generously, making sure everyone knew how much he loved them.
