A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was killed outside a kebab shop. Rebecca Steer died after a car mounted a kerb and hit her in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 9).
Rebecca was one of two pedestrians hit by the vehicle on Willow Street in Oswestry, near the Welsh border in Shropshire. A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the incident outside the Grill Out kebab shop in the town, reports Wales Online.
Ms Steer’s family has described her as “the most loving, talented and kind-hearted person you could know”. In a tribute shared through West Mercia Police, Ms Steer’s family said: “We are all completely devastated by the loss of our beautiful girl Rebecca. She always had a smile and a laugh that made everybody love her.

In statement issued on Sunday night, West Mercia Police said: "A woman who died in the early hours of this morning following an incident in Oswestry has been named as Rebecca Steer. She was struck by a car at around 2.50am this morning after it mounted the kerb outside the Grill Out takeaway on Willow Street. Tragically, she died of her injuries shortly after arriving at hospital.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the incident and remains in police custody. The family have asked everyone to respect their privacy at this very difficult time.
