Man arrested in connection with death of man in Renfrew

A man has been arrested over the death of Alastair Campbell in Renfrew.
The 52-year-old was found injured in a common close on Renfield Street in the town, near Glasgow, at around 3am on Monday. Emergency crews raced to the incident however, Alastair, from Renfrew, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say his death is being treated as suspicious. Officers have since arrested a 35-year-old man in connection.
He has been released from custody pending further inquiries.
Forensic officers and uniformed cops were spotted scouring the scene, which is close to the town's police station, on Monday afternoon as part of an investigation into the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of 52-year-old, Alastair Campbell in Renfrew. He was later released pending further enquiries.
"On Monday, October 30 officers were called to a report of an injured man in Renfield Street, Renfrew. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
Police had earlier appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
