A taxi driver has reportedly been taken to hospital after a crash on a major road in Bury.
Manchester Road has been taped off at its junction with Parkhills Road following the incident, which happened at about 8.50am today (Tuesday).
Pictures from the scene show a flatbed truck and a white taxi that appear to have collided. The taxi appears to have sustained considerable damage.

Firefighters rescued a man from inside the taxi following the crash. The driver of the taxi is reported to have been injured in the crash, according to Coun Tamoor Tariq, who represents Redvales ward on Bury council.
In a post on X, Coun Tariq wrote: "Following a RTA this morning, the junction of Manchester Road, Parkhills road and Radcliffe remains closed.
"One injured person is currently in hospital. The road will reopen later this morning once the vehicle involved has been recovered. Diversion through Brierly St for now."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 8.50am today (Tuesday June 18) two fire engines from Bury and Whitefield Community Fire Stations plus the technical response unit from Ashton Community Fire Station were called to a crash involving on heavy goods vehicle and a car on Parkhills Road, Bury.
“Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to rescue one man from the car and made the area safe. Crews were in attendance for around one hour.”
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have been approached for further information.
