Magnet Releasing Buys Horror-Thriller ‘The Seeding’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Pat Saperstein Deputy Editor Magnolia Pictures has acquired North American rights to “Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. The documentary, which was acquired by SK Global Entertainment, tells the story of Anita Pallenberg, the model and actress who rose to fame in the 1960s and ’70s after a chance encounter with the Rolling Stones. Alexis Bloom and Svetlana Zill directed the docu, which features the voice of Scarlett Johansson as Anita, based on the words of her unpublished memoir.

B.I has released a new single titled ‘4 Letters’ featuring Filipino-Australian singer James Reid.The release is accompanied by a visualiser resembling pages of love letters with the lyrics to ‘4 Letters’ fading in and out of view. “Darling, don’t cry / It’s only goodbye, it happens sometimes / Don’t be fooled just cause Love is four letters / Don’t mean it’s forever / Don’t mean it’s forever no,” he sings in the chorus.‘4 Letters’ is a track from B.I’s upcoming album ‘Love or Loved Pt.2’, due out on November 10.

Brent Lang Executive Editor IFC Films has acquired North American and select International rights to “Stopmotion,” a psychological horror film that will have its world premiere at Fantastic Fest this September. The indie distributor will release the movie in theaters in 2024, followed by a streaming debut on Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror, thrillers and other films about the supernatural.

Set in the Pacific, 1942, a Japanese ship transports prisoners of war to occupied territories as slave labor.

EXCLUSIVE: Shudder has snapped up rights for North America, the UK and Ireland to You’ll Never Find Me, an Australian horror thriller marking the feature directorial debut of Josiah Allen and Indianna Bell, from international sales agent Blue Finch Films. The Shudder Original is next set to play Fantastic Fest, after world premiering at Tribeca in June, and will launch on the platform in 2024.
