MAFS UK Christmas reunion 'being shot this week' as Matt misses filming

Married At First Sight UK 2022 certainly delivered in the drama stakes – and OK! can reveal that filming on another reunion episode is now underway. This week's reunion episodes saw the 2022 cast enjoy a final dinner party before sitting down with the experts for the last time, and sparks flew as the show's golden couple arrived separately before numerous rows erupted.
While fans are mourning the end of the show and wondering what else to do at 9pm on weeknights, more instalments are on the way with a Christmas reunion special set to arrive this December. However, not all of the cast will feature in it.
Filming on the special began this week, OK! can exclusively reveal, but Matt Murray, who was married to Gemma Rose before controversially hooking up with Whitney Hughes, has not been present. He's instead jetted off to Turkey with 2021 cast member Marilyse Corrigan – though the duo have denied they're an item.
A representative for the two stars told OK! that “there’s no romance”.They added: “[Marilyse] has being nothing more than a supportive friend to [Matt] whilst other friends from the show are filming the Christmas reunion." OK! has contacted E4 for comment. Plans for a MAFS UK Christmas reunion were first revealed last month with The Sun reporting that the special will see contestants from various series live under one roof.
A source told the publication at the time: “Bosses are over the moon with the success of this series so far and thought a Christmas spin-off would be the perfect way to capitalise on that. "It's going to be a similar format to the Love Island special in 2018, with the biggest stars from this series and previous ones staying together in a big country house."
