Weyes Blood has announced details of her new album ‘And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow’ and shared its first single, ‘It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody’.The California artist, real name Natalie Mering, will release the follow-up to ‘Titanic Rising’ on November 18 via Sub Pop.‘Titanic Rising’ was the first album of three in a special trilogy, which placed emphasis on the doom to come. ‘And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow’, meanwhile, is described as “a search for an escape hatch to liberate us from algorithms and ideological chaos”.“We’re in a fully functional shit show,” Mering says.

Chris Shiflett has shared his latest solo single ‘Born & Raised’ – you can listen to the track below.The Foo Fighters guitarist recorded the song at the same time as ‘Long, Long Year’, which arrived back in July.While both of the songs were recorded with the producer Vance Powell in Nashville, ‘Born & Raised’ started life in Shiflett’s hometown of Santa Barbara.He later teamed up with bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, Jack White, Wanda Jackson), drummer Julian Doro (Eagles of Death Metal, The Whigs), keyboardist Mike Webb and steel guitarist Luke Schneider in Nashville to finish ‘Born & Raised’, which you can hear below.“My trip out to Nashville in March 2021 was my first time recording any solo material since I made [2019 solo album] ‘Hard Lessons’,” Shiflett said of the recording.“I hadn’t done much traveling post-COVID lockdown so I was a little nervous heading out there to work with a producer and roomful of musicians I didn’t really know.  In true Nashville style we made our introductions and got right down to work, hammering out the basic tracks in a few hours.“Vance was great and made me feel right at home, and the group of players he put together were on point.”More new music from Shiflett is expected to arrive in the coming months.Shiflett took part in last weekend’s tribute concert for the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, which took place at Wembley Stadium in London.

Blood Orange has announced a new EP titled ‘Four Songs’ that is set to arrive later this month.Upon its release on September 16, ‘Four Songs’ will mark Blood Orange’s — real name Dev Hynes — first project with his new label, RCA Records. Contributors on the forthcoming EP include Eva Tolkin, Erika de Casier and Brooklyn singer-songwriter Ian Isiah.Hynes has previewed ‘Four Songs’ by sharing the EP’s self-produced opener, ‘Jesus Freak Lighter’.

Björk has released ‘Atopos’, the first single from her upcoming new album ‘Fossora’, alongside the first of a series of videos created by photographer Viðar Logi.“It is a good intro [to the album], kinda like [its] passport”, she said on Twitter. “Sonically a heavy bottom-ended bass world, we have six bass clarinets [and] punchy sub drilling, nesting and digging us into the ground”.“The lyrics are inspired by what Roland Barthes described as the unclassifiable ‘other’”, she added.

Lil Baby has announced his third studio album, ‘It’s Only Me’ – listen to new single ‘Detox’ below.The record, which will follow on from 2020’s ‘My Turn’, is due to arrive on October 14 via Motown.“I know it’s been a long time coming but I’m coming harder and harder,” Baby wrote on social media to share the news of the forthcoming LP, adding the hashtag “#worththewait”. Lourdes Leon, the 25-year-old daughter of pop icon Madonna, is making her own music.The songstress — under the stage moniker Lolahol — dropped her debut single, «Lock&Key,» on Wednesday.Leon released the quasi-ethereal club track along with a neo-goth music video featuring the songstress taking viewers on a dark, surreal odyssey across New York.The video presents a rich visual tapestry evoking complex philosophies over the nature of mortality and Leon sings among the mausoleums and tombs in an old cemetery, while also introducing elements of urban fantasy as she seemingly transforms into a water nymph frolicking in the breaking waves of Atlantic.With images of a scantily clad Leon driving around in an luxury car while physically covered with sparkling gems juxtaposed and intercut with images of her in graveyards and being driven around my a man in a skull mask, the video raises questions about the age-old debate over materialism and the intangibility of material things. After all, you can't take it with you, as they say.Also, Leon dances through pink-and-purple organza curtains while singing to a thumping beat, so it works on multiple levels.Leon, as Lolahol, released the new track under her own Chemical X label, and was produced by Eartheater, who also directed the video.Leon recently talked about her life as Madonna's daughter while speaking with Debi Mazar for  last October. The topic came up when Mazer, a longtime friend of the 63-year-old singer, mentioned that Leon opted to pay for college and her apartment on her own.«We don’t get any handouts in my family.

I just don’t care about it.
