Mac Miller’s Posthumous New Album Circles Is Out Now: Listen

New York experimental quartet altopalo have announced their sophomore album. It’s called farawayfromeveryoneyouknow and it arrives April 24 via Samedi. Ahead of the new record, they’ve shared the new single “honey,” as well as a string of North American tour dates. Since Mac Miller’s posthumous album, “Circles,” came out Friday, many fans have been convinced they heard Ariana Grande’s voice on the track “I Can See.” The late rapper’s reps responded to queries with a “no comment.” Now, his ex-girlfriend’s vocal cameo has been confirmed — or equivocally confirmed, at least — by the record’s producer, Jon Brion.

Mac Miller’s recently released posthumous album, Circles, was announced as a companion to 2018’s Swimming. As it turns out, the late rapper actually envisioned the projects as two-thirds of a trilogy. Producer Jon Brion, who completed Circles following Mac’s death, spoke about the Pittsburgh native’s plan in a recent New York Times interview.

Mac Miller’s posthumous album, Circles, is all but devoid of guest features, but there may be one famous voice hidden on the album: Ariana Grande. The pop star—who was in a relationship with Miller for several years—likely contributed background vocals on the project’s fifth song, “I Can See,” according to producer Jon Brion.

Earlier this month, Mac Miller's family announced they were releasing "Circles," a companion to "Swimming," on the late rapper's behalf. In their social media announcement, the family expressed their gratitude to producer Jon Brian, who completed the album after Mac's death.

The new music coming out this week has taken fans by surprise. There's Eminem's unexpected album Music To Be Murdered By, a complete body of work from the late Mac Miller in Circles, and Halsey's genre-defying Manic.
