A woman was left seriously hurt after being knocked down on the M60 while she was 'assisting another vehicle'.
The woman was hit by a vehicle that 'left the carriageway and spun across the motorway towards the hard shoulder' yesterday afternoon (April 1), Greater Manchester Police said. The fire service confirmed yesterday the crash involved two cars and a van.
The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. No further details on her have been released at this stage.

The motorway was closed off on the clockwise carriageway between junctions 23 and 24 for a number of hours after the incident. An air ambulance also landed in the middle of the carriageway.
Traffic was stopped as police, paramedics and fire crews responded to the crash and investigation work took place. Police were even forced to issue a number of warnings, urging motorists to stop filming the scene, leaving their cars to take their dogs for walk or buying an ice cream from an ice cream van also trapped within the closure.
Officers at GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now asking any witnesses, or anyone with dash cam footage, to come forward. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for information following a serious injury road traffic collision on the M60.
"A vehicle left the carriageway and spun across the motorway towards the hard shoulder. The vehicle collided with a pedestrian who was assisting another vehicle. "As a result, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries. Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and help their enquiries.
