Lovelyz’s Ryu Su-jeong releases first album ‘Archive of Emotions’

Lovelyz, has released her new album ‘Archive of Emotions’.‘Archive of Emotions’ is Su-jeong’s first release under her own independent label House of Dreams, which the K-pop idol founded in September 2022 after leaving long-time agency Woollim Entertainment in 2021, alongside six other Lovelyz members.“What I tried my best with on this album was to bring out the natural Ryu Su-jeong, the real Ryu Su-jeong,” the singer told South Korean media, per Korea JoongAng Daily.“When you’re a part of a group, you have to present yourself decorated a certain way with makeup and costumes,” she added. “But I tried to bare myself, so to say, so that people get to see me and my unrefined emotions.”‘Archive of Emotions’ notably features Su-jeong’s first English song, ‘How Can I Get Your Love’, which was released alongside a moody music video.

Thania Garcia According to the Seoul Gangnam Police (via Yonhap News), K-pop singer Moonbin was found dead in his Seoul home by his manager on Wednesday. The 25-year-old was a part of the boy band Astro, a five-member group formed by Fantagio Music. The South Korean entertainment company confirmed the news in a social media post that was translated into English by the K-pop media company Koreaboo. “On April 19, Astro member Moonbin suddenly left us to become a star in the sky,” they wrote. “Although we cannot compare our sorrow to the grief that the bereaved families are feeling, losing a beloved son and brother, the Astro members, fellow Fantagio artists, company executives and employees are mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock.”

Manolo Cardona’s Directorial Debut ‘Death’s Roulette’ on Paramount+ Bows Trailer (EXCLUSIVE)

Anna Marie de la Fuente Paramount+ has bowed the trailer and key art of Colombian actor-producer Manolo Cardona’s directorial debut, “Death’s Roulette” (“Uno para morir”) ahead of its May 5 launch. The Spanish-language suspense thriller will stream on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia and Latin America. It will also be available to stream in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and South Korea. Based on the original script “La Terminal” by Frank Ariza, “Death’s Roulette” is written by Julieta Steinberg, Gavo Amiel and Cardona. The story revolves around seven kidnapped strangers who wake up in an isolated mansion to find that they are part of a deadly game. They are given 60 minutes to select one person to die but he or she has to agree to be sacrificed. The grim alternative is for all of them to lose their lives. As the clock winds down, their darkest secrets are revealed and they realize they are all somehow connected to a shadowy past.

Jungkook of K-pop boyband BTS has made a donation to support a children’s hospital in Seoul.Today (April 18), South Korean media outlets Yonhap News Agency and Korea JoongAng Daily reported that the South Korean musician artist donated ₩100billion (roughly US$750,000) to the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital.According to hospital officials, Jungkook’s donation will be aid in the funding of medical expenses for kids who come from low-income households. It will also be put towards the hospital’s comprehensive care centre plan.“I hope my donation can be a bit of a help to children in danger, and I hope children can smile happy,” Jungkook said in a press release.

Kids would say that when forming teams to play games,” said producer Fay Zhang during the K Formats: The Next Big Hits from Korea session, mentioning “Squid Game’s” episode where the main character joined forces with female and older contestants.  “Everyone thought they would lose. NMIXX, has signed with a new label.Today (April 14), South Korean news publication Sports Kyunghyang reported that ex-NMIXX member Jinni has signed with a new agency called United Artist Production (UAP).In addition, the outlet also reported that UAP has inked a management collaboration deal with Sublime Artist Agency, home to Tiffany Young, Jackson Wang and more.Sublime Artist Agency has since confirmed the news in a statement to Star News. “Jinni recently signed an exclusive contract with UAP and we have decided to work together through the MOU collaboration,” the agency said.“We will provide generous support to UAP’s artist Jinni’s global activities so she can showcase her multitude of talents and potential, and we are delighted to be able to demonstrate our synergy together,” it added.UAP has since opened Instagram, Facebook and YouTube accounts, where they refer to the K-pop singer under the modified moniker of “Jini”.Jinni left NMIXX and JYP Entertainment in December 2022, less than ten months after the girl group made their debut in February of the same year.At the time, JYP Entertainment said that Jinni was leaving “due to personal circumstances”.

Jinyoung is set to enlist into the South Korean military next month.Today (April 5), South Korean news outlet JTBC reported that the GOT7 member has received his military enlistment notice and would begin his mandatory service in May, adding that the K-pop idol would serve as an active-duty soldier.The report has since been confirmed by Jinyoung’s agency BH Entertainment. Blockberry Creative’s petition to ban former LOONA singer Chuu’s domestic entertainment activities has reportedly been dismissed by the Korea Entertainment Management Association (CEMA).In February 2023, CEMA revealed to news outlets that Blockberry Creative had petitioned it in December 2022 for the suspension of ex-LOONA’s Chuu’s entertainment activities in South Korea.According to CEMA, the K-pop agency claimed that Chuu had violated the terms of their previous contract, alleging that she had moved to sign a with new agency BY4MSTUDIO in 2021, when her exclusive contract with Blockberry Creative was still active.Earlier today (April 4), South Korean news outlet TV Report reported that CEMA has since concluded its investigation and allegedly ruled in favour of Chuu after judging that Blockberry Creative’s claims regarding her violation of contract terms had been made on “insufficient grounds”.According to TV Report, CEMA has reportedly found there to be no evidence suggesting that Chuu and BY4MSTUDIO had made prior contact, adding that the issue of the agency’s claims should instead be addressed in court as part of the ongoing legal dispute between Blockberry Creative and Chuu.NME has reached out to Blockberry Creative for comment.Chuu had been a member of girl group LOONA until November 2022, when Blockberry Creative announced her expulsion from the group due to the singer’s alleged “violent language and misuse of power toward our staff”.
