‘Love? Luca gives Gemma the ick, I’m embarrassed for him!’ says ex Love Islander

Hi everyone – it’s Shaughna Phillips here. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride in the Love Island villa this week, hasn’t it? We’ve had bombshell Adam Collard arriving in a shock twist, and Jacques O’Neill bidding an emotional farewell. Personally, I’ve found the past two episodes a little bit boring.
But I think that’s just because the other episodes have been so jam-packed. It must be so weird for Adam to be back in there. I can’t even imagine what it must feel like.
I think he’s definitely grown up a bit. I must admit, I struggle to see him as anything other than an actor. I personally don’t think he’s in there for fame because he’s had it, so I think he’s just in there to do whatever the producers’ want him to do.
Which is amazing for us as viewers! Saying that, I expected him to create a bit more drama at the recoupling. I think he could have really shaken things up and chosen someone in a couple, like Gemma Owen. Now that Jacques is out of the picture, it’s easy for him to choose Paige Thorne.
I wanted him to be a little bit more of a daredevil and be a bit more brutal! Seeing Jacques leave was sad. I don’t know whether there was more behind it, but it is a very intense environment and I completely understand why he felt like he needed to go.Trust me, there were plenty of times I wanted to walk out. But I just thought, If I was going to leave, I wanted to leave by a public vote or a dumping.
It’s a shame it ended like that for Jacques – I think he could have turned it around with Paige. When he left, he said he would wait for Paige and meet her at the airport. I’m sure he meant that when he said it, but I highly doubt he’s even thought about her.
