Love Island star Charlotte Sumner's ex is a convicted criminal on the run, leading to scrutiny over how ITV vet their contestants for the show. Until very recently, Charlotte, 30, dated Daniel Jones, 25, who has been in prison for fighting and is also said to be wanted by police for driving offences.
Charlotte is said to have been dating Daniel since 2020, but she adamantly insisted she was single when she went on the ITV show to find love, where she wasn't shy about telling her fellow Islanders that she is looking for marriage and babies. Unfortunately, her time on the show was short-lived, as she was dumped from the villa alongside Andre Furtado in a shock double dumping.

And despite Charlotte, who's previously worked as a dominatrix, claiming she was single when she went on the show, a source told The Mirror: “Charlotte has been loved up with Daniel since early 2020.
“They’ve had some rocky patches, like any relationship, but they were very much together last month." Charlotte has often posted on social media about Daniel, including a snap of them standing beside a Christmas tree in December and on holiday in Dubai. All photos of Daniel have now been removed from Charlotte's Instagram and she's changed her Instagram handle.
It's been reported that Charlotte met Daniel following his release from prison, where he was incarcerated for being involved in a fight outside a lap dancing club in Southampton. He's also on Dorset Police's wanted list after failing to show up at court in March 2021, to face charges of dangerous driving and driving while
