As week two of Love Island drew to a close on Sunday, a shock re-coupling saw the status quo of the villa completely upended as tough choices needed to be made among the Islanders. Just two days on since André Furtado and Charlotte Sumner were dumped from the villa following a vote by their fellow Islanders, things once again took an unexpected turn when the boys were asked to pick which girl they wanted to couple up with.
Things first kicked off when Ella Thomas received a text just hours after her fellow Islanders had bid a tearful goodbye to André and Charlotte. In the text, it asked the Islanders to gather at the fire pit, where they would were informed an unexpected daytime re-coupling would now take place.
Instead of the girls choosing their partner, this time the decision fell to the boys, with some tough choices needing to be made along the way, particularly by Sammy Root, who had been embroiled in a love triangle with OG Islander Jess Harding and bombshell Leah Taylor.Things weren’t so clear cut for Ella and Tyrique Hyde either, as earlier in the episode he had accused Ella of deliberately trying to annoy him by getting to know new bombshell Scott Van Der Sluis, despite Ella having previously condemned him for getting to know bombshells Leah and Charlotte in the past. "I think you’re chatting to Scott to wind me up and it’s tit for tat," he told the star.
"But it’s fair enough.” Ultimately at the end of the re-coupling, six new couples had been formed, with several notable changes taking place among some previously solid matches. Following the shakeup, the new couples were as follows: Zachariah Noble and Molly Marsh, Mehdi Edno and Whitney Adebayo, Sammy Root and Jess Harding, Mitchel Taylor and Leah Taylor,
