Lorraine Kelly is everyone's favourite morning host bringing light and laughter to any subject, but when it came to a discussion on health struggles lately, she couldn't hide her concern. Speaking exclusively to woman&home, she said: "As I get older, the only thing that’s a big worry is health and losing [myself], to dementia. "Obviously, my lovely Fiona [former GMTV host Fiona Phillips, 63] has been diagnosed with dementia.
She’s OK, she’s still here, still her. She’s so b****y strong and has dealt with it with dignity and humour." The 64 year old star admitted it really "brings it home when it's someone you know" and that she endeavours to do as much as she can to keep it at bay. "I do my Wordle and crosswords every day, and try to eat well, but it’s a horrible, cruel disease.
It can affect anyone." Lorraine, who speaks regularly to health experts on her show, is on the ball when it comes to putting her health first, as she admitted that everyone should "take responsibility" for themselves. She said: "I am fastidious about mammograms. You’ve got to take responsibility for yourself and find your normal, because all boobies are different." Laughing, she added: "My husband regularly checks mine.
Selfless, he is. Selfless! But that’s great. He probably knows them better than I do.
It’s the same with women and men [checking for] testicular cancer." Lorraine, who has a new book coming out next month, also revealed in her chat that as much as she loved to interview her fellow TV guests, you won't catch her on a certain dancing show anytime soon. Laughing, she said: "I wouldn’t do Strictly in a million years. You know they have an endearingly funny one, like Ed Balls? I wouldn’t be funny at all, just rubbish.
