It’s hard to say that something has been worth the wait when that wait has been 16 years, which is how long it’s been since Todd Field’s previous feature, Little Children. All the same, it’s very good to have this fine filmmaker back on the scene with Venice Film Festival competition entry Tár, a weighty new drama that creates an exceptionally detailed portrait of a promethean artist eventually hoisted on her own petard.

Girl You Know It’s True.Directed by Simon Verhoeven, Girl You Know It’s True follows the story of duo Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus who, after achieving international success in the late 1980s as Milli Vanilli, were involved in a scandal when it was discovered they didn’t sing vocals on any of their songs.Newcomers Tijan Njie and Elan Ben Ali are set to portray Pilatus and Morvan respectively in the biopic, while Matthias Schweighöfer will play German music producer Frank Farian (pictured on Deadline).Other cast members include Graham Rogers as Milli Vanilli’s US assistant Todd and Bella Dayne as Milli, described as Farian’s right-hand woman. Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann serve as executive producers on the project.The film is named after the group’s 1989 debut album, which led them to win a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1990.

David P. Gelles will replace John Reiss as executive producer for NBC’s “Meet The Press” as Reiss moves into the role of executive producer for “Meet The Press Reports.”Reiss, who launched “Meet The Press Reports” with NBC News political director Chuck Todd in 2020, will transition to executive produce the streaming series after service as executive producer on “Meet The Press” for eight years.Gelles will join NBC News to executive produce “Meet The Press” on Sept.

On Wednesday, discovery+ debuted the first trailer for "House of Hammer," a special that "chronicles the deeply troubling accusations leveled against critically acclaimed actor Armie Hammer and the dark, twisted legacy of the Hammer dynasty." In the trailer, two of the 35-year-old’s exes, Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison, are seen speaking out about their experiences with the disgraced star.They also shared troubling text messages and voice notes they alleged are from Hammer.
